Sabine Cadeau, 2023 Lemkin Book Award Recipient

The Institute for the Study of Genocide (ISG) is pleased to announce that Sabine Cadeau’s book, “More than a Massacre: Racial Violence and Citizenship in the Haitian–Dominican Borderlands,” has been awarded the 2023 Raphael Lemkin Book Award by the Institute for the Study of Genocide (ISG). The biennial award recognizes the best non-fiction book published in English or translated into English that focuses on the causes, prevention, response, or consequences of genocide and mass atrocities. The ISG will hold a public talk and award event in fall 2023 in New York City with Professor Cadeau. Information on the event is forthcoming.
